After graduating from the University of Cincinnati in 2020 with a BS in Neuropsychology, Jacob completed 3 years at Stony Brook as a full-time Lab Coordinator. From 2020-2023 he was the lab coordinator in the Laboratory for Clinical Affective Neuroscience, where he worked with Brady Nelson on a multimodal and transdiagnostic examination of psychopathology in a community sample. From 2022-2023 Jacob was dually appointed in the department of psychiatry as a Lead Clinical Interviewer under Dr. Roman Kotov where he improved, trialed, and completed the use of the iHiTOP (Interview for the Hierarchical Taxonomy of Psychopathology) in a clinical setting.
He is interested in the treatment, perception, and prevention of distress disorder symptoms such as dysphoria and suicidality and will work on the ACE study with Lauren Bylsma as a PhD student.
Outside of the lab, Jacob enjoys soccer, music, and drinking coffee with his cat, Tosha.
