My role in the Center is to assistant in research related to suicide risk assessment, clinical management of suicidal research participants, and to share my experience as a Center Director to help REAACT thrive. I trained in pediatrics, practiced pediatrics in rural Colorado, and then came to Pittsburgh to train in child and general psychiatry. I then did a postdoctoral fellowship in psychiatric epidemiology. My work has focus on the risk factors for adolescent depression and suicidal behavior and the translation of those findings into actionable interventions. More recently, I have focused on developing digital technologies to support pediatricians who are caring for depressed and suicidal youth.
